sean bauer, wild and crazy, unfiltered and candid. these are just a few words to describe him and sean loves every second of it. he’s the resident wild child, the one who will always be relied on to be the life of the party or the party starter for that matter. he wasn’t always this way, though. he spent a lot of time living in the world where he was the center of attention as an only child, his parents grew him up to be a courteous and urbane young gentleman. but he didn’t really want to be that. once he realised that his parents wouldn’t take his own mindset into consideration, he packed two bags of every single piece of clothing he loved and ran away as far as he could. that landed him in southern chicago. he never lost his roots though, he’s still sophisticated.

riley’s father collapsed her sophomore year. “cardiac arrest”, the doctors said, along with “coma” and “hospice”, words riley refused to believe. she found herself erupting into arguments with her teachers in the middle of class, even breaking the trust of most people she had become acquainted with. after two months, riley’s mother chose to end her husband’s suffering - with no money to keep him alive, no other option could be considered.
her mother, miriam, a long time friend of the bottle, took to it now without needing to hide it from her daughter. when riley, and her younger sister, cassandra, needed her most, miriam couldn’t recall which day it was. so, riley wrote. her notebooks became scrawls of furied letters, every emotion gutting her insides. it wasn’t long before her sister and her sister’s husband, mike moved back in. her sister’s corporate job now keeps the mortgage and check and mike can put a decent meal on the table, but riley resents the help. she finds that she’s smarter than all of them, and one day she’s going to be a published author and leave them all behind. no one really seemed to notice that, so she dropped out. she figured that there was nothing more for her to learn, so she didn’t bother. she now takes care of cassandra while also making sure her mother stays in check and that mike and her sister don’t move out.
